Hobbs was a prolific artist, working in pencil, watercolor, and oil, and in printmaking media such as intaglio, drypoint, and aquatint. He experimented with lithography and block-printing as well. His subjects ranged from landscapes to city scenes, to still-lifes, portraits, and nudes.
